چکیده
The evaluation of animal locomotor activity is a behavioral tool widely used to measure the mechanisms underlying particular disease, disorder, or injury, as well effects exposure xenobiotic. elevated beam test one most tests in rodents assess balance and motor coordination. Despite being inexpensive utilizing simple apparatus, high requires long period training habituation. development characterization an alternative test, namely gait has potential circumvent time effort required for training, deeming it effective, inexpensive, fast method analysis behaviors that are comparably assessed by test. Therefore, present study focused on determining effectiveness feasibility assessing rodent locomotion replacement For this purpose, male rats were divided into three groups: control group exposed saline solution (NaCl 0.9%) two experimental groups single dose either 0.2 1.0 mg/kg ivermectin intraperitoneally induction disturbance. performed 15 min 24 h after drug administration. Results show had difficulty performing tasks at both points analyzed compared groups. At beam, animals trouble maintaining walking. showed alterations gait, which quantitated by: (a) shortening step length, (b) decrease stride, (c) altered symmetry, (d) stride area. Such results indicative compensatory efforts comparable between tests. Altogether, data indicate meets all requirements coordination rodents. therefore validated complement neurodegenerative impairment other disorders involving neuromuscular disturbances.

The Physiological Mechanism behind the Talk Test
The Talk Test (TT) is a very simple marker of exercise intensity, which has been shown to be a useful surrogate of the ventilatory (VT) and respiratory compensation (RCT) thresholds. The purpose of this study was to evaluate a potential mechanism behind the TT. Healthy, college-aged subjects (n=20) performed a maximal and two sub-maximal cycle ergometer tests. The two submaximal tests were perf...
متن کاملThe Comparison of Falling Risk of Elderly by Speed Gait Test Under Dual Tasks Conditions
Objectives: This study aimed to compare elderly fallers and non fallers by balance test under dual tasks conditions. Methods & Materials: This study was a analyse-comparative study. Subjects were chosen from three parks of Tehran. Subjects were 20 older adults with no history of falls (aged 72.60±5 years) and 21 older adults with a history of 2 or more falls in the last one year (aged 74.50±...
متن کاملViability of gait speed test in hospitalized elderly patients.
OBJECTIVE The gait speed test (GST) is a physical test that can predict falls and aid in the diagnosis of sarcopenia in the elderly. However, to our knowledge, there have been no studies evaluating its reproducibility in hospitalized elderly patients. The objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and reproducibility of the six-meter GST (6GST) in hospitalized elderly patients. METHOD...
متن کاملAn automated open field mouse gait analysis test
In the past, some efforts have been made to seek for automated systems to ease the job with monitoring laboratory animals. Commonly, these methods involve visually analyzing video recordings of the animal traversing a specially built runway [1,2,4]. Very recently, a more automated method, the “CatWalk” [3], uses a runway with internal reflection to increase contrast so image analysis software c...
